So Here’s My Story
I’ve been in the entertainment production industry for over 20 years. I’ve produced events for big names like Diana Ross, Elton John, Whitney Houston, and even Beyoncé and Jay-Z. But let me tell you, my biggest production was giving birth to my four children naturally.
Three of which I had at home. Yes, you heard that right! I never expected to have my babies outside of a hospital, but I did it, and it was the most empowering experience of my life.
I ultimately decided to have my last child in the hospital so I could provide support to women who are interested in birthing naturally in the hospital. I also homeschooled my kids for three years, which was a wild ride.
I started to share my birth stories from my prenatal and postpartum experience on social media, and I was overwhelmed by the response. I realized that my story could inspire and inform other women on their journey to natural birth.
Don’t get me wrong, I still love the entertainment industry. I’ve worked with some legends like Suzanne dePasse and Effie T. Brown, and I even produced Chadwick Boseman’s directorial debut film Heaven. But nothing compares to the feeling of bringing a life into this world naturally in the comfort of your own home, with your own plans. So, if you’re thinking about natural birth, let me tell you, it’s possible, and it’s amazing. And if you want to know more, check out my book Birthing Bare.
